The Torch

A short poetic film that begins amidst the London riots of 2011, and ends a year later with the arrival of the Olympic flame a few miles from where Mark Duggan was shot dead by police. Jacob, a life-long Eastender, looks back at his childhood and considers whether promises such as ‘development’ and ‘legacy’ really mean anything to those who live in one of the poorest boroughs in the UK.
